Q. How do I send you my photograph?
A. You can send us your photograph by postal mail or e-mail.
  • Postal Mail:
    1. Write your Last Name and Style# (or Item#) on the back of the photograph.
    2. Mail your photograph to:

  • E-mail:
    1. Open your scanner software. For 1 individual, box-in the area from the chest to top of the head, and from shoulder to shoulder. For 2 or more individuals, box-in the area starting from the lowest waist to the top of the tallest head; include all shoulder areas.
    2. Adjust the resolution as needed, to create a file size approximately 2 mg. after the box is drawn.
    3. Save the file in JPEG format. The file should be named as follows:
      YourLastNameStyle#.jpg
      Ex. Smith112.jpg
    4. Write an e-mail as follows:
      1. Address the e-mail to:
        sales@aphotocharm.com
      2. Enter your Last Name, and the Style (or Item) # in the Subject Line
      3. Attach your scanned JPEG photograph to the e-mail.


Q.Will my mailed photograph be returned?
A. The photograph you mail to us will be returned un-damaged, along with your order.



Q.What type of picture can I use?
A. A good quality or professionally photographed picture will always look excellent.
     Avoid pictures having the following characteristics:
  • avoid a picture that is printed on glossy paper, which reflects light.
  • avoid a picture that is printed on a non-smooth surface which has raised and lowered areas, since they will be reflective. The raised areas can appear as white dots, necessitating further processing to fix.
  • avoid a picture where the individual hair blends into the background, for example, an individual with black hair against a black background. * We will not be able to remove the background since it is not discernible from the person's hair.



Q. Do you touch up poor quality images?
A. We do fix the reproduced image of poor quality images, so that they look better than the original.



Q. I only have one old portrait of the person that I would like to put on a charm, but I cannot scan it because it is on a thick, parchment-like, cardboard. Can you process it, and is there a guarantee I will receive the portrait back in the condition I sent it?
A. Our equipment can scan the photograph without making any alterations to it at all. We will send you back the picture in the same condition that we receive it.



Q. Do chains come with my pendant charm?
A. We provide a silver chain for silver pendant orders only. Chains are not offered for gold pendant orders.



Q.When will I receive my order?
A. During non-peak holiday seasons, your order is processed within 2 to 4 business days from the date we receive your order (and photo, if applicable). During peak holiday seasons, it may take up to 5 business days to process your order. After processing is complete, your items are shipped via 3 day priority mail. To request your order be sent next-day delivery, or via an alternative shipping method, please contact us.
